Today’s feature is Russian born French artist Erte (born Romain de Tirtoff). The name Erte come from his initials R.T! I had never seen Erte’s work until yesterday afternoon whilst doing a pile of research and I am completely in LOVE! He lived from the late 1890′s into 1990 (holy moly that’s a long life!), and his career in art took him in many directions including fashion, jewellery, and costume design. Here are some of my favorites that I found yesterday…
Did you notice how the “number ladies” are surrounded by a boarder that is made up of the number’s their bodies are representing?? SO COOL! I am pretty thrilled to have come across Erte! I hope you enjoyed! Have a good Monday!

those would look really good on my bedroom wall

Wow, awesome and thank you for introducing Erte to me as well. I’ve never seen this art before today reading your blog has opened my eyes to some beautiful pieces before but this is the first time you’ve introduced an artist to me…
It’s so excited to find art that is so magical like his work! It never ceases to amaze me all of the beautiful things that are out there for us to find if we only look!
Those are great, like a cross between samurai jack and art nouveau… sorry nothing particularly academic to add, just that I really like those, thanks for sharing
